The Caribbean Medical Experience was, most notably, an experience. Personally, I loved all aspects of taking part in this program with the combination of the indepth experience in both the medical training and the field, the different perspectives of the life abroad, and the application of all that was learned. Furthermore, thanks to those involved in the program, I was able to see a glimpse of what I’m working towards. They were all tremendous help, especially with their attentiveness to the needs of each individual. Lastly, the people I met on this trip, the locals we interacted with, and the hands-on interaction with the leaders made the space safer to me and definitely allowed me to open up and enjoy myself with each activity.
